Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American television chef and the former Institute of Culinary Education instructor, is a TV personality. Anne W. Burrell hosts of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef for the Food Network, as well as co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network celebrity with her signature spikey blonde hair and pumped up personality reveals easy to learn techniques and eliminates anxiety about restaurant food on her TV show Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell has also worked at several of the most prestigious restaurants within New York, studied the food culture and culinary traditions of Italy as well as competed on the Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in the Upstate region of New York Chef Burrell was attracted by the food. After earning an English and Communications degree in Canisius College in Buffalo NY she pursued her passion for the industry of restaurants by registering at The Culinary Institute of America. The Culinary Institute of America was an unforgettable learning experience for me. I was unable to learn enough, didn't do enough couldn't work hard enough. After graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany and La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) while attending Umbria. She also attended the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. In Italy she developed an appreciation for and understanding of Italian cuisine. It had a significant influence on her perception of food. Burrell has served on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens children who are facing obstacles and is also an Juvenile diabetes research foundation Celebrity Ambassador where she promotes the awareness of juvenile diabetes. In her capacity as an inspirational speaker, she travels across the nation to talk about her love of food and her culinary career. Anne, throughout her entire experience in the kitchen, has declared that it's an honor to be in a position to be able to share this love of the food industry with people.
